2021 Wisconsin Governor's Conference on Tourism
March 12, 2021– San Francisco – The U.S. Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council (USCHMC) announces that Richard Peterson, President and Chief Cultural Ambassador of USCHMC will be a featured speaker for the 2021 Wisconsin Governor's Conference on Tourism (WIGOT 2021).
WIGOT 2021 is presented by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and Travel Wisconsin. This year’s program will be facilitated virtually with signature programming on March 16th, April 1st, April 20th and May 6th. The robust program features an address from the Governor, select officials and leading educational and insights thought leaders.
“The opportunity to gather as a travel and tourism industry, as we turn our view towards a recovery focus amid the pandemic’s impact - is a critical moment for us all.” said Richard Peterson, President of USCHMC. “Both socially and economically the associated consumer shifts are relevant to communities, urban and rural - of every size. Each are evaluating the signature opportunities to showcase their distinctive arts, culture, heritage and culinary experiences – that connect to locals and visitors alike.” comments Peterson.
For the two programs he will be conducting, Peterson will take a closer look at recent trend
lines, tourism insights, opportunities to define and amplify key cultural pillars - and how communities are leading the movement to be cultural & heritage tourism ambassadors. Each element plays an integral part to tourism development and sustained growth.
