AITA 2026 Annual Conference
Record-breaking attendance. Inspiring conversations. Powerful connections. What an incredible week for Indigenous tourism!
My sincere thanks to Sherry Rupert and Dawnielle Tehama and the American Indigenous Tourism Association team - and the Tulalip Tribes for an extraordinary 28th Annual Conference in Tulalip, Washington. Congratulations to the entire AITA team on an outstanding gathering!

With the largest delegation in the conference's history, the gathering brought together an incredible blend of voices, perspectives, and experiences—sparking meaningful conversations, new friendships, and exciting opportunities for collaboration.

I was especially honored that the U.S. Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council (USCHMC) could facilitate the “Building Indigenous Cultural Tourism Working Lab”, bringing participants together for hands-on dialogue and peer exchange to explore partnerships connecting Indigenous cultural heritage, creative enterprises, and visitor experiences.

One of the greatest joys of returning to AITA is reconnecting with longtime colleagues, building new relationships, and celebrating the inspiring work taking place across Indigenous communities.
